Depression and the Risk of StrokeIn a recent study with older adults the risk of a stroke increases even if depression symptoms have improved. During the study it was found that severe symptoms of depression were double likely to suffer a stroke than an individual without any symptoms. The study went so far to state that even individuals that had symptoms during the first meeting but were better during the second meeting were still at a 66% higher risk of suffering from a stroke.
